Craving a Guilt Free Healthy Night Snacks?

Healthy Night SnacksSome people get hungry even after they eat dinner. Try these alternative healthy night snacks that won’t undo all the hard work you’ve already accomplished in your weight loss goal.

Snack Your Way Thin

1. Drink water

You might actually be thirsty than hungry. Drink a glass of water after dinner, this will help you feel full if you’re still hungry. Add a twist to good old fashion water and add a splash of lemon or lime.

For a truly unique taste, put cucumbers in your water (a boost of moisture for your skin as well). This is a great healthy snack alternative without actually eating anything.

2. Eat Fruits, vegetables and nuts

If you’re still hungry after dinner, try eating fruit and veggies. This is a healthy night snack alternative.  For an easy digestible snack at night (especially if your craving an ice cream sundae) try a bowl small bowl of  yogurt with fruit. Eat some sliced veggies and try balsamic vinaigrette dressing as a dipping sauce.

Apples or celery sticks with peanut butter is a good healthy snack at night as well as dried fruit mixed with nuts. Make sure you eat in moderation. A small handful of nuts will help curb your hunger.

You can also create your own late night trail mix with a special mixture of dried fruit (raisins, mangoes, cranberries) with pretzels and nuts. This healthy night snack should help prevent any unhealthy late night binges that will undo all your hard work and effort.

3. Eat crackers and low fat popcorn

Craving something salty? Try eating some crackers with hummus dip, they are a great alternative from eating chips and dip. Low fat popcorn (butter and salt free) is a great healthy night snack to eat when you’re watching TV. Avoid consuming too much salt at night, it will only make you more thirsty.

4. Turn breakfast into a healthy night snack

Cereal and milk is not just for breakfast anymore. This is a great healthy night snack that will leave you full and satisfied, without the guilt.  Avoid the high sugar content cereals and opt for the healthier alternatives like Cheerios and Raisin Brand. Turn plain and boring Cheerios into a delightful snack by adding dried strawberries, bananas and granola. Oatmeal with dried fruit is also another great healthy night snack alternative.

5. Brush your teeth after dinner and avoid eating anything at all

Brushing your teeth after dinner will help deter you from eating a snack at all. Try going to bed even if you’re still a little bit hungry. You’ll feel proud of your self control and wake up feeling better in the morning (especially if it’s time to break your fast with a good  healthy breakfast).

Eating healthy night snacks is important if you’re trying to control over eating and lose weight. Everyone’s body is different so keep in mind of what foods you eat throughout the day. In order to lose or maintain your weight,  healthy night snacks should be limited to a certain amount, this way you don’t eat more than you should at night.
